Every year the Albany Institute of History & Art displays unique objects from the arts, culture and history of the upper Hudson Valley, and Capital Region. This year the institute is commemorating the women’s suffrage centennial and asked Extreme Molding to be part of their exhibit. We were honored to be included as a greater majority of our company is staffed and supported by women.
Extreme Molding was co-founded in 2002 by Lynn Momrow-Zielinski and Joanne Moon Duncan. Lynn has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Industrial & Management Engineering with years of experience working with Mobil Chemical and GE Silicone in the silicone and plastic injection molding field. Lynn also serves on the board at RPI for the Center for Automation Technologies and Systems and is a fifth generation native of Upstate NY.
Joanne has an English degree from Upsala College and pursued her MBA from Seton Hall has worked as Director of Manufacturing. Joanne assisted a medical device manufacturer start-up in staging a successful IPO. She and Lynn worked together at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics where they met and ultimately decided to form Extreme Molding.
This year’s exhibit features products that highlight women’s lives. Extreme Molding is proud to produce many women’s and infants products using medical grade Silicone and Plastic Injection molding processes. Many of the women’s lines include Silicone nursing pads, scar management treatments, artificial nipples for mastectomy patients, pacifiers, teethers, and infant toothbrushes. Some of these items are represented in the exhibit running from February 8 – June 7, 2020 at the Albany Institute of History & Art located at 125 Washington Ave, Albany NY
